Tim Gunn Gets His Own Fashion Competition Show on Lifetime

Tim Gunn is one of my favourite people in the word, which I'm sure a lot of people will agree to if you watch Project Runway. I was so happy to read yesterday that he's going to be 'starring' in his very own show! Make it work and read below:

Tim Gunn fans, you’re about to get your dose doubled.
The Project Runway mentor, famous for his tough love tactics, hilarious one-liners and sharply-tailored suits, announced on Wednesday over Twitter that he will star in his own show on Lifetime starting in January. The aptly titled Under the Gunn is — you guessed it — a fashion competition show that will feature some familiar faces, including Marie Claire‘s Senior Fashion Editor Zanna Roberts Rassi and designer Rachel Roy as judges. The mentors are Project Runway alumni and fan favorites Anya Ayoung-Chee and Nick Verreos.
Under the Gunn will follow 15 designer hopefuls under Gunn and Co.’s guidance, all vying for an unnamed grand prize. If this sounds vaguely familiar to you, that’s because, yes, its concept is extremely similar to Project Runway‘s. Lifetime has confirmed to us that Project Runway is sticking around, and Gunn will be on it when it returns to TV this summer. There’s enough Gunn to go around, we suppose — but we are very curious to see how the two shows differ.
Lest we forget, this isn’t Gunn’s first foray into eponymous television shows: His first stab at hosting, Tim Gunn’s Guide to Style, had a two-season run on Bravo in 2007 and 2008. Let’s hope for his sake that UTG fares a little better.
